Trentepohlia flava, Chroolepus flavum
{flava = yellow}
Despite its orange colouring, this species is a green alga closely related to the Ulva, Acrosiphonia, and Codium genera. It grows in wet and cool areas, on rocks and cliffs as well as bark, wood, and concrete. It may be found on sea cliffs and other rock above the high tide line, but it is not exclusively a shoreline species. See more images on the AlgaeBase species page.
